RTP3000 TAS

Designed by engineers, for engineers

RTP3000 TAS , the state-of-art system, SIL-3 certified for safety applications

Runs Faster

12ms reaction time based on a scan time of 5ms, including logic solving of 700 PID loops

Never Stops

Based on the failure rates defined in IEC61508:2010, the N+ system has a MTTFS of greater than 60,000 years the RTP3000 offers an MTTF of over 50.000 years and an availability of 99.9999%, using the field proven technology of the 3000 TAS (Technologically Advanced System).

Costs Less

Thanks to the unique software licensing policy of RTP. RTP NetSuite is offered as a project license with all the development and runtime licenses. The license is obtained by an one-time registration fee and includes support and free upgrades. The hardware is also offered for an attractive price and includes a 10 year warranty period.

Offers Cyber security

Certified to ISA Secure EDSA300, level II and includes AES Encryption algorithm.

System Architecture

Unlike other systems, the RTP3000 TAS was designed to meet the stringent requirements of IEC61508 2010 without later additions or modifications.  The product requirements contained two other major items, the functionality of a DCS and the speed of a PLC.   To meet the DCS requirements all Analog cards are designed with 16 ADCs and DACs.  A multi CPU architecture that adds processing capability as the system is expanded makes it the fastest control system available and satisfies the PLC requirement.  The software package, NetSuite, provides all the software components you will need.  By making a simple OS change, you can utilize the same set of hardware and the same software suite for your SIS, DCS, or PLC applications.  This is RTP’s definition of Seamless Integration.

RTP offers the most hardware configurations to meet your desired SIL level. With our intuitive user interface, any redundant hardware configuration can be setup with only a few mouse clicks. Redundancy is transparent to the designer and end user.

The RTP3000 TAS includes a ten-year warranty eliminating the need for an annual maintenance contract.  RTP systems have passed the rigorous IEC61508-2010 requirements and conform to the highest quality standards in the process control industry.  In the past, RTP products were qualified to Nuclear Class 1E standards for use in the nuclear industry.  We now offer the products in accordance to IEEE 323 standards.

RTP NetSuite is provided as an unrestricted site license with free software upgrades for a one-time registration fee, and with no annual maintenance fees.

RTP Corp assists cost containment in a variety of ways:

  • Hardware acquisition costs are contained through our highly efficient manufacturing process
  • Software is sold as a one-time site license with no limits on the number of installs, tags, applications, or controllers
  • Ease of programming using the same IEC 61131 compliant tools
  • Using RTP for your safety and plant control system means your engineering and maintenance staff need only learn one system, resulting in lower training costs.
  • Each I/O chassis provides mounting space for up to 18 I/O cards based on Chassis Processor redundancy and power supply redundancy.

Distributed Architecture

The RTP3000 system uses a Distributed Architecture – an application gets separated into smaller control task applications and downloaded into its own Node configured as a single, dual redundant, triple redundant, or quad redundant processor system within a domain. Each domain can have up to fourteen nodes, each node with up to 4 chassis which equates to up to 56 chassis per domain.

Design Flexibility

The RTP3000 offers Design Flexibility – the system allows to be configured according to the level of availability and cost required. The system can have one, two, three, or four Node Processors residing in one chassis or separate chassis. I/O redundancy can be accomplished on one card or across multiple cards. The redundant I/O cards can be placed in a common chassis or across multiple chassis.

Designed to stay online

The system is designed to stay online. There is no limit to the number of times you can make changes to the application. Logic, I/O, module pages, etc can be added or removed with no restrictions to the number of times you make changes. It includes hardware configuration changes while remaining online. I/O channels, I/O cards, chassis, etc. can be added to or deleted from the system without taking the system offline. Changing an I/O card can be performed in a matter of minutes and only requires a simple mouse click within the NetArrays software to disable or enable the card.
